Court of Appeal Approves Attorneys’ Fees Award Against California Gambling Control Commission

February 7, 2013

In a published decision, the California Court of Appeal has ruled in favor of Martin’s client in an appeal of a $2 million attorneys’ fees award against the California Gambling Control Commission.  The case was a taxpayer action brought to force the Commission to discharge its duty to collect money owed to the State by Indian tribes from gambling operations.  The Court of Appeal sent the case back to the trial court for a minor correction of the fees award.
